Basketball Game Preview: Mountain Home Tigers vs. Middleton Vikings

Mountain Home hasn't had much luck against Middleton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Mountain Home Tigers will jump right back in to play the Middleton Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mountain Home comes in on ten and Middleton on 20.

Mountain Home is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 50-39 win over Jerome.

Meanwhile, Middleton blew past Sandpoint, posting a 75-35 victory. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 matches by 24 points or more this season.

Middleton's win came from a few key players Mountain Home will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zoey Blackwell, who posted eight points along with six assists and three steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Elsie Wyatt was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Middleton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Mountain Home's record is now 20-4. As for Middleton, their record now sits at 24-1.

Mountain Home came up short against Middleton when the teams last played back in February of 2019, falling 44-36. Can Mountain Home avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
