Baseball Game Preview: Grimsley Whirlies vs. Randleman Tigers

The Grimsley Whirlies will take on the Randleman Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Grimsley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Randleman's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Grimsley's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Page.

Noah Christensen looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Levi Ponder was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Davis Cook was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Randleman got the win against Providence Grove on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-2. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Randleman's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Grimsley, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
