Basketball Recap: Galesburg Christian Lions vs. Varsity Opponent
Galesburg Christian took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They breezed by the Varsity Opponent Varsity Opponent to the tune of 66-28. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Varsity Opponent, too.
Leading Galesburg Christian to victory were Isaac Movida and Malachi Barker. Movida went 8 for 16 en route to 21 points plus five steals, while Barker dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. Movida has been hot , having posted three or more steals the last five times he's played. Ryan Walker was another key player, earning eight points plus eight rebounds and four blocks.
A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Galesburg Christian Lions duke it out with the Pathway Christian Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Varsity Opponent has already played their next contest, a 60-59 win against Overton on the 19th.
