Football Recap: Cleburne County Has No Trouble Against Munford

It was a proper cat-fight when Cleburne County took on Munford on Thursday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 27-7 margin over the Lions. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 50-17 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

SILAS HUNT had a dynamite game, rushing for 52 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Another reason for the win was Cleburne County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Cavin Bates was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He has become a key player for Cleburne County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one sack, but 0-5 otherwise.

Cleburne County's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Munford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
