Football Recap: Metter Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Metter was feeling good fresh off their 31-0 takedown of Portal last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers had to suffer through a 34-6 loss at the hands of the Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Metter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaden Williams and Kasi Johnson.

Emanuel County Institute's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ab Marsh, who rushed for 104 yards and two scores on only five carries. Those rushing touchdowns were Marsh's first of the season. Tyler Foreman was another key back, rushing for 90 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.

Metter's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Emanuel County Institute, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Metter didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-0 victory against Claxton on the 3rd. As for Emanuel County Institute, they have also already played their next matchup, a 37-0 win against Savannah on the 2nd.
