Football Recap: Newnan Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Newnan gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans 54-14. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cougars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Spartans are ranked 204th).

Newnan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaylen Britt out in front who picked up 84 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Kameron Davis also helped with two TDs in total.

Despite the loss, Greater Atlanta Christian had strong showings from Pierce Wilson, who gained 132 total yards and two touchdowns, and Michael Miller, who threw for 263 yards and one touchdown.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newnan will welcome East Coweta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they will host Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
