The Lyons Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Marion Black Knights at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lyons' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
On Friday, Lyons made easy work of Sodus and carried off an 18-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Rylee Richardson and Keira Weber made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Richardson pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Meanwhile, Weber tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Richardson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Richardson went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Weber went 1-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Lyons got a massive performance out of Lydia Briggs, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Elise Wilkinson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Lyons was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .583. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Marion, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past East Rochester 13-1 on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Black Knights needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Lyons pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 11.2 runs thus far. As for Marion, their record now sits at 3-1.
Lyons skirted past Marion 5-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
