Softball Recap: Piketon Takes Down Zane Trace in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Piketon rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Zane Trace Pioneers. The Redstreaks haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Kyndall Carroll was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Carroll was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Aubrey Heath was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Addy Blakeman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Piketon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .379 or higher in four consecutive games.

Piketon's record is now 23-4. As for Zane Trace, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.

Piketon will face off against Wheelersburg on Wednesday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their 25th straight win, something the Redstreaks surely won't give up without a fight. Zane Trace does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
