Softball Game Preview: Lynden Lions vs. Ephrata Tigers

The Lynden Lions will challenge the Ephrata Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lynden is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Franklin Pierce with a sharp 11-1 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

12 must be Ephrata's lucky number: they beat Archbishop Murphy with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Tigers beat the Wildcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-4. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Lynden is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Ephrata, their win bumped their record up to 19-8.
