Softball Recap: Newton Falls Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lordstown on Thursday, Newton Falls came back down to earth. The Tigers fell just short of the Brookfield Warriors by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost seven in a row.

Newton Falls saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hanna Wright, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Madalyn Knight also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Newton Falls' loss dropped their record down to 6-8-1. As for Brookfield, their victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10.

While Newton Falls had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
