Basketball Recap: Goose Creek Memorial Comes Up Short

Goose Creek Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 81-32 loss at the hands of the Summer Creek Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 672nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 57th).

Goose Creek Memorial's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Znai Horn, who posted ten points. Alecia Watson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Goose Creek Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Summer Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season.
