Basketball Game Preview: Spencer Rockets vs. Marathon Red Raiders

The Spencer Rockets will venture away from home to face off against the Marathon Red Raiders at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 45-17, which was the final score in Spencer's tilt against Neillsville on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Warriors are ranked 13th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marathon). They managed a 69-65 victory over Phillips on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Raiders.

This is the second loss in a row for Spencer and nudges their season record down to 9-12. As for Marathon, their win bumped their record up to 17-5.
