Basketball Recap: Laton Comes Up Short

If Laton was feeling good fresh off their 56-31 takedown of Alpaugh last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Laton Mustangs took a 37-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverdale Christian Ambassadors. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 47-39 loss back in January.

Despite the loss, Laton still got an impressive performance from Donavin Mobley, who posted eight points and three steals.

Laton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Riverdale Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season.

Laton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Riverdale Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Immanuel at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Immanuel knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Riverdale Christian likes a good challenge.
