Softball Recap: Camp Point Central Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Camp Point Central entered their tilt with Quincy on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Blue Devils. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 13-8 win the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Karly Peters, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Huston, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Peters wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Camp Point Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matchups.

Camp Point Central pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Quincy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Coming up, Camp Point Central is taking a road trip to face off against Triopia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Quincy, they will welcome Sterling at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
