The Bound Brook Crusaders lost against the Phillipsburg Stateliners last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Bound Brook suffered a rough 63-37 defeat at the hands of Phillipsburg. While losing is never fun, Bound Brook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Phillipsburg is ranked 11th).

Phillipsburg was led to victory by Andrew Martin and Matthew Scerbo jr.. Martin scored 17 points along with five rebounds, while Scerbo jr. scored 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Scerbo jr. has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ameer Herran, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.

Bound Brook has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-9 record this season. As for Phillipsburg, the victory was the 20th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-1.

Bound Brook and The Pingry School will face off on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The Pingry School is coming into the game with eight straight wins at home, meaning Bound Brook will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Phillipsburg, they will face off against Vernon at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Phillipsburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
