Basketball Game Preview: Patrick Henry Patriots vs. Atlee Raiders

The Patrick Henry Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Atlee Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Patrick Henry had to suffer through a 84-49 loss at the hands of Varina. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Blue Devils are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, Atlee entered their tilt with Highland Springs on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They took down the Springers 60-42.

Patrick Henry has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Atlee, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Patrick Henry didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Atlee when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 46-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Patrick Henry since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
