Soccer Game Preview: Santa Ana Valley vs. Magnolia

The Santa Ana Valley Falcons will take on the Magnolia Sentinels at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Magnolia took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Santa Ana Valley, who comes in off a win.

Santa Ana Valley's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. Everything went their way against Samueli Academy as Santa Ana Valley made off with a 3-0 victory. Considering the Falcons have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Samueli Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Xica Ortega, Jayleen Roldan, and Natalie Lopez.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Magnolia's offense. They lost 4-0 to Norco on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Sentinels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 649th, while the Cougars are ranked 192nd).

This is the second loss in a row for Magnolia and nudges their season record down to 6-9-2. As for Santa Ana Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2-2 record this season.
