Softball Recap: Houston County Lions vs. Abbeville Yellowjackets
Houston County won the last time they faced Abbeville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lions were the clear victors by a 20-5 margin over the Yellowjackets.
Ayden Noblitt was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Aaniyah Barber was a standout: she scored five runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Roxi Atwood was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4.
Houston County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .651. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
