Football Recap: Obion County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Obion County was feeling good fresh off their 28-0 takedown of Gleason last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rebels had to suffer through a 57-13 loss at the hands of the Westview Chargers. The Rebels lost against the Chargers in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 78-0 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Obion County lost on Friday, don't look at Tucker Moore. Despite the final result, he rushed for 150 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Moore is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 150 every time he's taken the field this season.

Westview found their leader in sophomore Graham Simpson, who threw for 201 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 85% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Having lost for the first time this season, Obion County fell to 3-1. As for Westview, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Obion County will face off against Covington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Chargers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Westview, they will take on McNairy Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will be up against the Bobcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
