Softball Recap: Hasbrouck Heights Starts off Right with Win over Palisades Park

Hasbrouck Heights had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Palisades Park Tigers 21-0 on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Aviators, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Palisades Park's batters probably weren't too happy with Maddy Connelly, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up two walks).

On the hitting side, Kailen Peterson was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Haley Wixon, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-2.

Palisades Park is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Hasbrouck Heights will be playing in front of their home fans against Midland Park at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Palisades Park, they will challenge Secaucus at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
