Volleyball Recap: Horizon Hawks vs. Frederick Golden Eagles

It was a Battle of the Birds when Horizon duked it out with Frederick on Thursday. The Hawks fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Hawks' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Horizon actually scored more points across those five sets (104-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 16-25, 25-23, 17-25, 15-10.

Allison Bailey paced Horizon's offense, picking up 15 kills. Bailey got some help from Annalee Young and her 32 assists. Katelyn McAuley controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Frederick, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Horizon is set to face off against their familiar foe Monarch at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Frederick will take on rival Holy Family at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
