Softball Game Preview: V.R. Eaton Eagles vs. Dripping Springs Tigers

The V.R. Eaton Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Dripping Springs Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. V.R. Eaton is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Saturday. V.R. Eaton fell 7-4 to Allen.

Meanwhile, Dripping Springs got the win against Akins on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-3. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

The team relied heavily on Lorelei Gamble, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024. Emma Phillips was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Dripping Springs' victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs over those games. As for V.R. Eaton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
