Preview: Johnson-Brock Eagles vs. Lewiston Tigers
Johnson-Brock is 10-0 against Lewiston since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Johnson-Brock Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Lewiston Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Johnson-Brock is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Johnson-Brock scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They really took it to Diller-Odell for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-34 victory on the road. Johnson-Brock has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Johnson-Brock got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lleyton Behrends out in front who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Behrends has scored all season. Brody Koehler was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Lewiston ended up a good deal behind Southern on Thursday and lost 62-47.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Caleb Rule, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Janssen, who scored 12 points.
Johnson-Brock's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Lewiston, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Johnson-Brock have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 25.5 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Lewiston, though, as they've been averaging only 24 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Johnson-Brock against Lewiston when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 74-15 win. With Johnson-Brock ahead 42-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.
