Football Game Preview: Edgewood Mustangs vs. Scottsburg Warriors

The Edgewood Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Scottsburg Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Edgewood will be strutting in after a victory while Scottsburg will be coming in after a defeat.

Edgewood played against Irvington Preparatory Academy on Friday and won via forfeit.

Edgewood is facing Scottsburg at the wrong time: Scottsburg suffered their first home loss of the season on Friday and they're likely out for redemption. They lost 34-14 to the Braves. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Edgewood will have to keep a close watch on Garrett Boling and Nathan Byrd, a pair of players who had a big impact on Scottsburg's prior game. Boling picked up 107 receiving yards and two scores, while Byrd threw for 245 yards and a pair of TDs. Boling has been hot recently, having posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last three times he's played.

With the win, Edgewood broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-3. As for Scottsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
