Baseball Recap: Grace Academy Triumphs

While Grace Academy's win against Lee Park Prep wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Knights on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

Seth Stanton was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Grace Academy is undefeated when Stanton posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nick Coccus, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Grace Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lee Park Prep struck out seven times.

Grace Academy's record now sits at 9-5. As for Lee Park Prep, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Grace Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe Pro Stock Royals Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lee Park Prep will challenge rival Gospel Light Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
