Basketball Game Preview: West Orange-Stark Mustangs vs. Silsbee Tigers

West Orange-Stark is 0-10 against Silsbee since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The West Orange-Stark Mustangs will be playing at home against the Silsbee Tigers at 7:00 p.m.

Last Friday, West Orange-Stark came up short against Lumberton and fell 49-42.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Silsbee). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Little Cypress-Mauriceville 100-70. The victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on four straight.

West Orange-Stark better focus on containing Payton Jones and Quinton Shoulders as the pair were huge in Silsbee's win. Jones went 7 of 13 en route to 20 points along with seven assists and six steals, while Shoulders went 7 of 9 en route to 20 points and five assists. Jones' evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Rice, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Silsbee pushed their record up to 12-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 91.3 points per game. As for West Orange-Stark, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

West Orange-Stark took a serious blow against Silsbee in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 112-55. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point West Orange-Stark was down 62-26.
