Football Recap: Jesse Price's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dayton over Lake Creek

Dayton lost against Lake Creek back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Broncos lost 50-26 to the Lions. The contest marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Dayton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jesse Price, who picked up 171 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 61 yards. Jerry Prieto Jr was another key player, having thrown for 285 yards and two touchdowns.

Zach Colwell was a one-man wrecking crew For Lake Creek. as he rushed for 163 yards and two scores while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 163 rushing yards gave Colwell a new career-high.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 4-2. As for Lake Creek, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Dayton will square off against rival Huntsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Denim Foster and Traeshawn Brown. Meanwhile, Lake Creek is set to take on their familiar foe Nederland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
