Basketball Recap: Woodland Comes Up Short

Woodland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were dealt a 92-28 defeat at the hands of the Mattanawcook Lynx. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Lynx are ranked second).

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Mattanawcook, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

When Woodland and Mattanawcook next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Woodland will try to stop Penobscot Valley's 13-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mattanawcook will challenge Dexter and their five-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
