Soccer Game Preview: Poly vs. Grant

The Poly Parrots will challenge the Grant Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Poly will be strutting in after a victory while Grant will be coming in after a defeat.

Grant will be up against a hot Poly squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Poly beat Arleta by a goal, winning 3-2. The win was all the more spectacular given the Parrots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 885th, while the Mustangs are ranked 357th).

Meanwhile, Grant fell victim to Arleta and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

Poly's victory bumped their record up to 5-9-1. As for Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1.

Poly beat Grant by a goal in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 2-1. Will Poly repeat their success, or does Grant have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
