Basketball Recap: Oberlin Takes a Loss

Oberlin lost against Port Clinton back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Oberlin Phoenix were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to the Port Clinton Redskins. The Phoenix's loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, Oberlin still got an impressive performance from Julian Anderson, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 19 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Anderson a new career-high in steals. Carmello Williams was another key player, putting up ten points.

Oberlin's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Port Clinton, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12.

Coming up, Oberlin will look to defend their home court on Friday against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. Oberlin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season. As for Port Clinton, they will head out to challenge Edison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
