Basketball Game Preview: Sandburg Eagles vs. Maine East Blue Demons

The Sandburg Eagles and the Maine East Blue Demons will round out the year against one another at at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Maine East took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sandburg, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Sandburg turned things around against St. Charles East on Saturday. They snuck past the Fighting Saints with a 59-53 victory.

Meanwhile, Maine East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were outmatched by Evanston and fell 98-42. While losing is never fun, the Blue Demons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 551st, while the Wildkits are ranked 40th).

Maine East's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Sandburg, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
