Fort Calhoun made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,787 from 3,726. The advance stemmed from a 35-26 victory over Wayne last week.
The Pioneers' dynamic duo of Jordan Kann and Jaden Boudle proved tough for the Blue Devils to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kann threw for 76 yards and two touchdowns and Boudle had 60 yards receiving. Spencer Shull helped Fort Calhoun's passing attack out by catching one ball for 16 yards.
Joe Genoways made the biggest impact on defense this week as Fort Calhoun defeated Wayne. The junior grabbed one sack.
Joey Baum was the most productive running back in C1 District 1 this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 149 yards as Douglas County West topped Rich Rethwisch's team. Teammate Dylan Lind added to the ground attack by rushing for 68 yards.
Fort Calhoun's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pioneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kann has thrown for 561 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Boudle has 18 catches for 364 yards. James Rathjen leads the league in rushing with 462 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Pioneers take on Arlington. Fort Calhoun is currently in first, while the Eagles are in third.
