Basketball Recap: Greenville Tech Charter Comes Up Short

Greenville Tech Charter played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Brashier Middle College Charter Bengal, falling 57-37. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 58-26 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Leading Brashier Middle College Charter to victory were Andrew Hutchens and Andy Burdick. Hutchens posted 13 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, while Burdick went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. Burdick is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ridge Bryson, who had ten points.

Greenville Tech Charter's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville Tech Charter will take on Chesnee at 7:45 p.m. on January 14th. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, they will face off against Blacksburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brashier Middle College Charter is facing Blacksburg at the right time seeing as Blacksburg is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
