Football Game Preview: Green Forest Tigers vs. Gravette Lions

Green Forest is 1-6 against Gravette since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Green Forest has given up an average of 32.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Friday. Green Forest had to suffer through a 50-7 loss at the hands of Prairie Grove. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, Green Forest couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Gravette got themselves on the board against Lincoln on Friday, but Lincoln never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 52-0 win over the Wolves. That 52 point margin sets a new team best for the Lions this season.

Green Forest better keep an eye on Gage Bottorff. He was instrumental in Gravette's win, picking up 116 receiving yards and one score. Those 116 receiving yards gave Bottorff a new career-high.

Gravette didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Owen Merworth and Cade Phillips. Another thorn in Lincoln's side was Porter Bird, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Gravette's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Green Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Green Forest was taken down by Gravette 49-8 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
