Basketball Recap: Ashley Drops Highest Score of Season Against Swansboro

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ashley). They enjoyed a cozy 61-46 win over the Swansboro Pirates on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-46 back in November.

Among those leading the charge was Reagan Norris, who went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc on her way to 20 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024. Harper Harris was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

The victory (which was Ashley's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points over those games. As for Swansboro, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Ashley will square off against Jacksonville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Swansboro, they will challenge Laney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buccaneers' defense has only allowed 28 points per game this season, so the Pirates' offense will have their work cut out for them.
