Basketball Recap: Murphysboro Triumphs

Murphysboro hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They pulled ahead with a 44-43 photo finish over the Webber Trojans on Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Webber lost, don't look at Chloe King. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave King a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Edyn Knight, who posted six points and eight rebounds.

Murphysboro's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Webber, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.

Murphysboro will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Century at 6:00 p.m. As for Webber, they will host Christopher at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
