It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mechanicsville had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Colonial Heights Colonials 65-22. The Mustangs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mechanicsville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madeline Frantz, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 16 points and six boards. Carys Khan was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven steals and five assists.

Mechanicsville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Mechanicsville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points over those games. Colonial Heights is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.
