Preview: Gardendale Rockets vs. Calera Eagles
After two games on the road, Gardendale is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Calera Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gardendale has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 284 points over their last four matches.
Even though Hueytown scored an imposing 63 points on Monday, Gardendale still came out on top. Gardendale took down Hueytown 82-63.
Meanwhile, Calera's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 56-42 to Mortimer Jordan. While losing is never fun, Calera can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Mortimer Jordan is ranked 25th).
Gardendale's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Calera, they bumped their record down to 1-14 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Gardendale against Calera in their previous meeting back in November as the squad secured a 94-56 win. Does Gardendale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Calera turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
