Basketball Recap: Maypearl's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

Maypearl won the last time they faced Palmer and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Maypearl Panthers walked away with a 50-39 win over the Palmer Bulldogs. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 451st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1005th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Palmer still got an impressive performance from Kenli Dobie, who went 8 of 16 on her way to 19 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Dobie has posted since back in January of 2024.

Maypearl pushed their record up to 21-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Palmer, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-21.

Maypearl is taking a road trip to take on Keene at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Palmer has already played their next contest (against Blooming Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
