Sam Shilts posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. As a matter of fact, he turned in his biggest game of the season, striking out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Shilts' strong effort led Phoenix over Klamath Union and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
