Valencia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell to the Murrieta Mesa Rams 38-33. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

Valencia's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Bretthauer, who threw for 231 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown. Brian Bonner handled things on the ground, rushing for 91 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Artyon Celestine was nothing short of spectacular for Murrieta Mesa: he rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Celestine got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible 88 yards. Royal Randolph also helped out as he racked up 141 rushing yards.

Valencia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Murrieta Mesa, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Valencia will face off against Rancho Cucamonga at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Murrieta Mesa, they will square off against Murrieta Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
