Baseball Recap: Solanco's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Solanco not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 9-0). They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Cocalico Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-2 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Joey Chapman, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Ayden Herr was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Solanco was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Solanco's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8. As for Cocalico, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Solanco will venture away from home to square off against Conestoga Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Mules' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Buckskins have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Cocalico, they will host Garden Spot at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.53 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
