Biggsville West Central proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 12) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans 8-7. The victory was nothing new for the Heat as they're now sitting on 12 straight.

Miley Stimpson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 12 contests.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Becca Hinshaw, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Higgins, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Biggsville West Central's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge], this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-9.

Biggsville West Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Illini West on the 14th.
