Basketball Recap: Granville Golden Horde vs. Lake George Lakers
The Granville Golden Horde were the 56-40 winner over the Lake George Lakers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Granville took a 59-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakers on Saturday.
Despite the loss, Granville still got an impressive performance from Liam Farrell, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was William Jennings, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Lake George's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angelo Bergman, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Bergman hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Welch, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Granville dropped their record down to 10-6 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Lake George, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Granville will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake George, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Burgers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Warrensburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Tuesday.
