Football Recap: Grant Generals vs. Southeast Spartans

Grant lost against Southeast back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Generals were beaten by the Spartans 48-6. The loss put an end to the Generals' undefeated start to the season.

Southeast's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carlton Evans led the charge by rushing for 47 yards and one score, while also throwing for 23 yards and one TD. An impressive showing, but Evans really ramped things up playing D: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made five total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Montre McGlugritch was in the mix too, providing Southeast with two touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, Grant fell to 2-1. As for Southeast, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Grant and Southeast will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Generals will challenge rival Southmoore at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Southeast is set to take on their familiar foe Midwest City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
