Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calhoun Christian). They put the hurt on the Maple Valley Lions with a sharp 55-30 win on Tuesday. The Cougars pushed the score to 47-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.

When it comes to explaining why Maple Valley lost, don't look at Ines Sanchez Feito. Despite the final result, she posted 20 points and five steals. That was a full 66.7% of Maple Valley's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

The victory got Calhoun Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Maple Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Calhoun Christian and Will Carleton Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maple Valley, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Maple Valley Lions challenge the Stockbridge Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
