Basketball Recap: Jordan Josey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Spanaway Lake over Bonney Lake

Spanaway Lake lost against Bonney Lake back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sentinels came up short against the Panthers, falling 76-53. While losing is never fun, the Sentinels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Panthers are ranked 31st).

Several Sentinels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Josey, who went 6-for-13 en route to 15 points. Josey is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last three games he's played. Javaun Phal was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Spanaway Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Bonney Lake, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Spanaway Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-46 loss against Stadium on the 13th. Bonney Lake and Graham-Kapowsin will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
