Winthrop and Swampscott are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Vikings will challenge the Big Blue at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The Vikings took their matchup with ease, bagging a 40-6 victory over the Sachems. Considering the Vikings' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Swampscott, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in September. They managed a 28-22 win over Gloucester on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Big Blue in their matchups with the Fishermen: they've now won four in a row.

Winthrop's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Swampscott, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Winthrop suffered a grim 38-15 defeat to Swampscott when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
