Volleyball Recap: Jackson Center Comes Up Short

Jackson Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Russia Raiders. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Russia scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 25-19.

Tatum Reichert paced Jackson Center's offense, picking up 12 kills. Reichert got some help from Laynee Shields and her ten assists. Finally, Lilly Davis kept Jackson Center's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Jackson Center's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Russia, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Jackson Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against New Bremen on the 30th. As for Russia, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Marion Local on the 2nd.
