Softball Recap: Dawson Sets Scoring Season-High Against Sam Rayburn

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dawson). They blew past the Sam Rayburn Texans 19-1 on Saturday. The Eagles not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28, 2024.

Dawson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. Sam Rayburn's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Looking ahead, Dawson will take on Alvin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sam Rayburn, they will challenge Dobie at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sam Rayburn has given up an average of 10.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
